Ketakandriana Rafitoson is a Malagasy lawyer and political scientist. She also holds Masters degrees in Human Rights and Population and Development. Her first passion is democracy, however, and she has been actively engaged in citizens' political empowerment and the defense of civil liberties for more than 15 years. She is part of several Malagasy civil movements such as Wake Up Madagascar and Liberty 32 and is an ICNC Summer Institute alumna. She is also an ICNC Learning Initiatives Network Fellow and launched in 2016 the LIANA (Learning Initiative Aiming at Nonviolent Actions) project, which seeks to teach civil resistance techniques to Malagasy people.
